one week done. twelve to go.
i am training with jimmy and sparky for the bulldog 50k in august.
this race is going to be hot and miserable, but we’re doing it together, so it can’t be too bad, right?
sparky created a thirteen week training plan for the group. the biggest change from my regular/marathon training is that we are doing two weekend trail runs per weekend. this means no sleeping in on saturday or sunday. wonderful.
monday: bouldering with kerry (1 hour cross train), 1.2 mile run to play with my new watch (garmin 235)
tuesday: fleet feet strength training with coach chris (45 min cross train), two loops (1.4 miles) before tug of war and trivia
wednesday: 1.2 miles before hockey (we lost 5-4 with only six skaters) (1 hour cross train)
thursday: 2 miles on the treadmill before bouldering with britt (1 hour cross train)
friday: 2.9 miles on the treadmill at orangetheory fitness (15 min cross train), two kickball games at night (2 hour cross train)
saturday: 10.6 miles round trip to inspiration point
sunday: 6.6 miles round trip up wildwood to chuck
weekly mileage goal: 20 miles
total miles: 26 miles
cross training: 6 hours
foam rolling: 0 minutes
1. i have officially ditched my fitbit. i loved competing against my non-running friends for steps, but i really hate wearing two watches and really love my new garmin (which also tracks steps).
2. i am traveling to yosemite this weekend for the shadow of the giants 20k.
