hello! marathon monday has begun again. this time i am training for the twin cities marathon (i previously wrote a marathon monday series for the LA marathon in march).
my last marathon training plan was 17 weeks and with a group. this time i am doing it alone and have decided to do 18 weeks (though this first week was more of a warm up). i am most nervous about training alone, my team really helped keep me honest and accountable. that’s where you come in. i am hoping by sharing this with my friends, it will force me to run my required mileage. we’ll see.
update: i decided to re-start my training on june 18 with a plan through trainingpeaks.com, so i have renamed this week and next “pre-training” weeks.
monday: hockey game (we tied 3-3, we are now 0-10-1) (oh and i got an assist!)
tuesday: paint nite with my lady friends
wednesday: ran 2.3 miles (national running day)
thursday: ran 4.1 miles with my team
friday: dodger game
saturday: two hours of kickball practice
sunday: two hours of kickball games
total mileage: 6.4 miles (this was definitely a “warm up” week)
i also started a push up challenge on friday. on day 1, we had to do as many push ups as we could in 1 minute. i did 17. now every day (until the end of june i think?) i will add 5 push ups per day to my 17.
