i am just 11 weeks away from the marathon.
monday: hockey (we lost)
tuesday: rest, phantom of the opera for p’s birthday
wednesday: corn hole (quick 1.28 mile run before)
thursday: yoga! (more on this below)
friday: 3 miles before kickball
saturday: 3 miles before race, 3 miles at “awesome 80s run”, 4 miles before yoga, yoga
sunday: 1 mile in the morning, 1.5 miles at night
total miles: 16.78 miles
1. i have hired my marathon training coach from the LA marathon to develop a training schedule for me, considering i will be running a marathon and then two half marathons in the span of a month. i am really excited to train with her.
2. my mileage was lower than planned this week because of one big thing: rain! i am spoiled by perfect southern california weather, so i did not adjust well to rain. the rain did force me to run “naked”, no iphone, no music, no gps (though i did wear my watch and check it at the end). it was surprisingly refreshing.
3. yoga! my friend e invited me to yoga thursday night and i loved it. i felt like each pose was meant for me, it strengthened where i am weak and stretched what was tight. i bought a 1 month unlimited pass and plan on going a few times per week.
