(actually being posted on a wednesday, sorry!)
monday: no hockey so a much needed rest day after the kickball tournament on saturday
tuesday: ran 5 miles after work with the fleet feet burbank marathon training program. this week we did pyramid sprints: you sprint 200 meters, then jog back, then sprint 400, jog back, 600, 800, 800, 600, 400, 200. the short sprints were easy for me, but the longer ones nearly killed me (and i understood why later, 800 meters is a half mile!)
wednesday: ran 3 miles with my friend cici. running and talking always makes a run more fun.
thursday: my last physical therapy for my ankle!! and then played division 4 hockey (we won 6-1)
friday: rest day.
saturday: ran 12 miles with the marathon training program group at griffith park. my favorite part of the run was when we passed by a drummer playing a drumset in the middle of the park! it was incredibly random but motivated me to run to his beat, plus it just cheered me up. after the run, i went to get a pedicure with molly. note to self: pedicures are the best thing ever after a long run. i spent an extra $8 and got a longer “moisturizing” massage and a steam towel wrap. this may become a post-long run routine.
sunday: rest day, instead i made a lot of cookies and decorated them with my friends.
total mileage: 20 miles
(better than last week’s measly 8 but i still didn’t hit my goal)
currently listening to: nothing! i just ran and zoned out a bit, it was great.
