i did it!! i did it!!
monday: no hockey (at the suggestion of my boss, i took off this week from hockey. not worth hurting myself this close to the race)
tuesday: no run, i worked with the running coach on ways to help my knees
wednesday: kickball (we won, i played poorly)
thursday: race team dinner (i love these guys)
friday: kickball (we won, i played poorly)
saturday: two mile “shake out” run. then a mani/pedi and lots of rest
sunday: the marathon!! i finished in 4:59:56, hitting my goal despite the record setting temperatures in santa monica (91!)
i will post a race recap as well as my race prep (what apparently works for me).
i’m done! well, for now. next marathon: october 4th!
